I-Relay Resources Usage Back to I-Relay

The I-Relay software, witch transfer information received from the LAN to the Iristext video billboard thru the serial port, uses almost no resource from the PC. In fact in the standby mode when there is no transmission, it very difficult to measure time taken from the PC.

The serial port is used only to transfer pages once after their creation or modification. The network is free as soon as the file containing a complete message cycle and scheduling are loaded into an IRISTEXT unit. The unit becomes standalone and will run continuously by it-self in order to broadcast "the right message at the right time" according to the schedule.

IRISTEXT pages use typically only 200-800 bytes. Iristext graphics use a vector format and resident graphics are pre-loaded in each Iristext unit. All these features were designed to increase efficiency and to minimize the necessary communication or network traffic.
